DioGuardi Launches New Ad Highlighting Gillibrand’s Work for Big Tobacco

NEW YORK – Joe DioGuardi, Conservative and Republican Party nominee for the U.S. Senate, today launched a new web ad http://bit.ly/9qVrzZ that target’s Gillibrand’s work for Big Tobacco, in which she tried to conceal the fact that nicotine was addictive and tobacco products can cause cancer.

“Gillibrand has spent her career avoiding transparency,” said DioGuardi. ”While I was working to reveal genocide in the Balkans, Gillibrand was trying to conceal the fact that tobacco causes cancer. Even a brief look at her record will tell you she has been committed to concealing the truth in order to get ahead. How can she claim to support open leadership when she has been a champion of disguise? Gillibrand tells voters she promotes transparency, but that is clearly just another talking point she’s using to try to get elected.”

While working on the Philip Morris account, Gillibrand was tasked with concealing the research conducted in the company’s secret lab in Germany. More specifically, she was charged with hiding the fact that nicotine was addictive and tobacco caused cancer. Today, approximately 25,000 New Yorkers die from cancer-related diseases.
